Wow, that is some crafty squirrel work! I have a few that are going after my birdfeeder too. I think they outsmart me most of the time.

How about get the longest roofing nails, sharpent them real sharp,jbweld them to the top of the baffle so when he jumps he stabs him self on the spikes,might work

The power company up here where I live Pacific Gass & Electric has a constant problem with squirrels getting into the high voltage equipment, and getting fried, and causing a blackout. Where I worked one day I heard very loud explosion outside, and all the lights went out. We called and reported the problem, and went out to investigate. We found a small smoldering squirrel laying at the base of the power pole. In honer of the small rodent, who gave his life in the exploration of electrical equipment we named our company's softball team the flaming squirrels

personally i think if squirrels figure out ways around such things, they deserve all the food they can eat lol.

Squirrels can jump from tree to tree 8ft. and from the ground 5ft. That is what I've been told. Squirrels are smarter then one thinks. Can't out witt them I know I've tried.

Once he jumped on top of the bird feeder I would of givin the squirrel the heave ho, wave a stick at him, whatever. You need to move that empty clay flower pot farther or out of the way. Remember, squirrels are technically rodents.

He was just sizing up and calculating the distance of everything from the feeder in his little head. Very impressive!

Squirrel 1 baffle 0 . Pot was too close. It was gonna jump from up high but figured if I miss this is gonna hurt. lol

LOL!!!! Squirrels can leap and jump farther than you think and are very smart in figuring out how to get to food. And they dont give up, very persistent. I thought at first the Squirrel was going to try and leap from the tall Red post to the feeders at the beginning of the video. Hard sometimes making a bird feeders full proof from Squirrels. Thanks for the video

I did not want the squirrel to win I have been feeding Birds now for about a year bird food have went up so expensive now I can't afford to feed the squirrels and the birds it is Impossible

Great patience recording this lil fellah. After such persistance , I would have allowed it to get his belly full as well! I'll find them in my platform feeders from time to time: If they "make it" to it they win the prize.

where do you get the squirrel baffle? Looking t the Guardman Deluxe Feeding Station, it does not come with the baffle.

They are smart little creatures that's for sure. Lol.....but the baffle does work!

This is why I don't waste my money on squirrel deterrents such as baffles, spicy bird food etc. I just set up a small cage trap with peanuts and corn in a bowl.

The squirrel baffle is positioned way to low. Secondly with all the pots laying around the bird stand.. you pretty much provided a stepladder for the squirrel to just jump up. Baffles should be positioned at least 4 1/2 ft off the ground with nothing laying near it that can provid the squirrel a boost. Most squirrels can jump vertically up to 4ft so anything lower is basically just a stand for the squirrel to jump on to. Another tip is to buy bird seed that’s been sprayed with or made with hot peppers as most animals do not like the heat but this has no effect on birds.

At the end, the squirrel even didn't eat much seeds. It was more like "Just to ensure myself that I can do it. Food is not the goal". Beautiful creatures. Way more interresting and cute than cats.
